Meet Dr. Calvin Despain

Well, I became a dentist because Iwanna help people. And dentistry can often be a scary experience. And we havethe ability as dentists to really help patients to have a good experience. Oursmile, our teeth has a huge effect on our lives. And it can affect ourconfidence with ourselves, our confidence with our interaction with others. Andas a dentist, I have the ability to really change people's lives.

It's really awesome when patients havecome in and they have bad teeth or they aren't comfortable with their smile,with our technology, we can change your smile in a day, so that their wholeperception, their whole perspective on life changes. We can also help peoplewho, you know, if they just have one tooth that's hurting, then we can get themout of pain with that. And so really, our oral health is connected to the restof our body. So by improving their oral health, we improve their overallhealth, and we can help them live a better life.

I always wanted to do something in themedical field. And as a dentist, we get to help people. We can have a goodlifestyle. We don't have to have those crazy hours that some physicians do. Andso, it just was really a good fit as a dentist to be able to help people. Andas a dentist, I get to work a little bit more closely with some of my patientsthan maybe some other healthcare providers do. And so that really offers a lotof great benefits as well.

I did my undergraduate degree atBrigham Young University-Idaho. Afterwards, I attended dental school at IndianaUniversity School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. And I graduated number 5 in myclass out of 106. And I got the award for having excellent clinical andintegrity when working with patients.

Some of the great CE or continuingeducation courses I've taken are in CEREC, which is our same-day crown system,and in implant dentistry offering both mini and traditional implants. I've alsotaken CE or continued education courses on offering oral conscious sedationalso known as [inaudible 00:01:53] sedation so that we can help offer acontrolled experience for each of our patients.

A native of Middleton, Idaho, Dr. Calvin Despain graduated as valedictorian of Middleton High School. He pursued his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University-Idaho before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Indiana University School of Dentistry.

Dr. Despain's dedication and clinical skills were recognized with highest distinction honors, placing him in the top five percent of his graduating class. He also received the Dr. Tillman E. Miller Clinical Achievement Award and was inducted into the esteemed Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society for his professional integrity and commitment to clinical excellence.

Since dental school, Dr. Despain has enhanced his expertise through advanced training in CEREC same-day crowns, dental implants, and cosmetic dentistry procedures. His professional growth allows him to provide his patients with the latest technologies and treatment methods.

In his personal time, Dr. Despain enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle and cherishes quality time with his wife and children. He is passionate about delivering exceptional dental care to members of the community he calls home.

I appreciate this dental office, they have state of the art equipment and crowns are done while you wait! As a disabled vet, they are the only one I have found in Moses Lake that is proactive and they reach out to the VA for authorization. Good experience, no medical bills from them, directly... He knew his job so well that after he explained the current up to date hardware they are able to use in this practice/office that I no longer fear moving forward with surgery. So far I would very much recommend this Facility and the care each of their staff provided me with.
